Article Processing and Publication Fee Policy for the Axis Journal of Medical and Biosocial Sciences (AxisJMBS)

Article Processing and Publication Fees

To support the journal's operations as a high-quality, open-access publication, AxisJMBS charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon manuscript acceptance. This fee covers critical services such as copyediting, professional typesetting, digital preservation, and online hosting and indexing. No fees are required for submission, the editorial assessment, or the peer-review process.

The APC is applied as follows:

  • International Authors: USD $150

  • Authors from Pakistan: PKR 30,000

This fee is only requested after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. There are no charges for rejected manuscripts.

Subscription Charges

AxisJMBS is a fully open-access journal. There are no subscription fees for readers. All published content is permanently and freely accessible to anyone worldwide, ensuring the widest possible dissemination of research.

Waiver Policy

AxisJMBS is committed to supporting the global exchange of knowledge. We recognize that financial barriers can prevent the dissemination of valuable research, particularly from low- and middle-income countries.

Therefore, we offer a full or partial waiver of the APC to corresponding authors who can demonstrate genuine financial need. Waiver requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis and are granted at the discretion of the editorial office. Priority is given to early-career researchers and authors from underrepresented regions.

To apply for a waiver, authors should submit a formal request during the submission process, providing a brief justification for their need for financial support.

Conclusion

Our fee structure is designed to sustain the journal's open-access model while ensuring that the ability to pay does not become a barrier to publishing high-quality, interdisciplinary research. We are dedicated to equitable knowledge sharing and advancing science for the global public good.

For any questions regarding our fee policy, please contact us at axisjmbs@gmail.com.

Expenses And Financial Support

The financial support is required to meet the essential operational and quality-assurance needs of the publisher’s scholarly journals, which operate as open-access platforms managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS). These funds are utilized to administer rigorous double-blind peer-review processes, including coordination and honoraria for independent reviewers, and to ensure professional copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading of accepted manuscripts in accordance with international publishing standards. Additional expenses include plagiarism detection and research integrity checks, website hosting, system maintenance, and ongoing technical support necessary for secure and uninterrupted journal operations. Financial resources are also required for editorial management and administrative handling by editorial boards, limited printing and dissemination for regulatory and institutional purposes, and routine operational costs such as banking, communication, and official correspondence. This financial support functions as a cost-recovery mechanism to sustain publication quality, ethical standards, and editorial independence while ensuring consistent operations and compliance with HEC requirements across all journals.

Source of Funding Disclosure

AxisJMBS is committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency and integrity in scholarly publishing. To this end, we require authors to explicitly disclose all sources of financial support for the research reported in their manuscript.

Disclosure Requirements:
Authors must provide the full name of each funding organization and the associated grant number (if applicable). This information must be included in a dedicated "Acknowledgments" or "Funding" section of the manuscript.

Purpose of Disclosure:

  • Transparency: Allows readers, reviewers, and editors to assess any potential influence of the funding body on the research design, analysis, or interpretation.

  • Attribution: Ensures proper acknowledgment of the organizations that enabled the work.

  • Mapping Research: Helps the academic community understand funding trends and priorities in medical and biosocial sciences.

We consider the disclosure of funding sources an essential component of ethical research communication, enhancing the credibility and reliability of published work.

For any questions regarding this policy, please contact the editorial office at axisjmbs@gmail.com.
